About Matt Connell Wines
Matt Connell Wines in Cromwell is a Central Otago label focused on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from selected single vineyard sites. Matt Connell won Winemaker of Show in 2021, and a Pinot Noir took Wine of Show and the Champion Pinot Noir Trophy at the New Zealand International Wine Show in 2018.
The winemaker pours at the cellar door, which is open by appointment, and visits can be booked online. The shop sells current releases such as Rendition Pinot Noir and the Lowburn and Bendigo single vineyard Chardonnays, with a social club and a wine club.
